Art to Purchase
Dozens of handcraft and fine artisans displayed their works at Art & Soul with an eclectic mix of jewelry, imported crafts, sculpture, clothing, bath products and much more.
Art to Create
For the kids, the Family Fun Zone allowed them to create crafts using recycled materials.
Budding artists who want to practice their painting skills were invited to grab a brush and help with the community mural project.
For 2007, the festival had the Nature Sculpture Arena, a participatory art installation by environmental artist Zach Pine. Participants used materials from nature to create a spontaneous and collaborative artistic expression.
Six Live Sketch Rallies - a progressive table sketching activity hosted by Pro Arts - were held at the 2007 festival.
Other hands-on arts activities included youth craft projects organized by the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse and the Museum of Children’s Art.

In addition to 60 bands on six concert stages, the 7th Annual Art & Soul Oakland festival highlighted the city’s vibrant arts scene with a variety of exhibitions and demonstrations detailed below.
Bodies of Water was a whimsical installation by Jessica Cadkin using yarn and fabric to create jellyfish floating on water.
Created by Chelsea Pegram, Soft Time was an 18-foot papier-mâché installation on the 14th Street facade of the Clay Street parking garage.
Tim Armstrong's 60-foot-long Tree Memorial drawing used flour and water to create a tree drawing .
The Youth Art Gallery featured collages, abstract paintings, poetry, drawings and batik pieces by kindergarten to 5th grade students from Bella Vista Elementary School who participated in the Oakland Fine Arts Summer School.
Oaklandish
Unusual Oakland-oriented videos were shown by Oaklandish in their "Local Love Screening Tent" on Jefferson Street near 12th.
